Out With Stress: Tips on How to Cope

Writer: Azaria AndersonAzaria Anderson

Many a times I have found myself lying flat on the floor tearing my hair out, bawling my eyes out. Sometimes even screaming on top of my lungs. Other times I find myself throwing books across the room, stabbing them with knives (Then quickly checking to make sure that they're okay) and giving them death glares. Why? It's because of as little awful yet essential demon we call Stress. Now, Stress is inevitable. It doesn't matter how old you are you will stress.

When you were 5, and Barbie Fashion fairy Tale got postponed: Stress

When you we 10, and your favorite pair of shoes no longer fit: Stress

When you were 13, and that cute boy/girl didn't even acknowledge your existence: stress

when you were 16, and that sweet 16 party just had to be the littest party of all time despite the fact that you were broke: stress

When you're 24 and realize that that student loan or that University fee won't pay it's self: Stress

When you get a job, and realize that a maxed out credit card isn't as glamorous as it looks on Tv: stress

Get the picture? So despite what some parents's would like to think we all have stress. What I'm going to teach you now, are 5 ways to get OUT of stress. So stay with me

1) Cry It Out

I know..what? I'm here on the verge of tears because stress if killing me (metaphorically and literally) and you're going to tell me to "cry it out". Are you on crack Azaria?

No,I don't think I am. In all honesty, when you feel overwhelmed don't bottle it up and try to stop the tears. Cry. Get on the floor if you need to. Bawl, because if you bottle up all your anxiety and your worries inside it's going to make you inefficient because you're always going to be thinking about it. So the next time you're feeling overwhelmed, put down that pen, close that book, get on the floor and cry. Give your body a release.

2) List it Out

I honestly feel like my life revolves around lists. I list everything.

10 reasons I need a raise in lunch Money.

100 Reasons I'm a Queen.

100 reading to drop out of School (stay in school kids).

You get the point. Making a list of all the things you need to do is beneficial and helpful. Not only does it save time -Time Management post coming soon- but it also helps you to feel as if you're achieving something. Trust me. Making a list of what you do greatly reduces your stress level and ticking items off your list builds your adrenaline and make doing the work seem easier.

3) Can it Out

One important thing people always forget, is this... You can't do everything and no on can kill you for not doing something (hopefully). Of course that does not mean you should not of anything but do what you can and leave what you can't. Don't stress yourself out by trying to chew more than you can swallow.Don't choke yourself. When ticking off your list don't rush it.

4)Dance it Out

Another tactic to employ is to turn on some of your favorite music and D A N C E. Personally, when it comes to me I think dancing should be a sin. I look so awkward but the awful the same. Turn on some Sam Smith or John Legend and belt you some lyrics that imaginary person that's leaving you and just relax your mind. Sometimes you need to just get a little time to feel good and what better way is there than music?

5)Pray it Out

Yes I saved the best for last. Usually when I'm mega stressed, I'd just go to chapel and spend some time in front of the Blessed Sacrament. I talk to God and just let it all out. Trust me He hears and He answers. Sometimes I talk to Mary and ask her to pray for me, either way I usually feel much more relieved when I'm done. You should try praying too.
